Privacy Policy

The short version

Bank Compass does not require an account, does not have a login, and does not store any database of personal information about visitors. Its own analytics are cookieless and aggregate. The site is funded by Google AdSense display advertising, which is the only thing here that can set an advertising cookie — see "Advertising" below for when it loads and how to change your choice.

What we currently collect

Bank Compass uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless, aggregate analytics service. It does not use cookies or browser storage, does not track you across sites, and does not build an individual profile of you — it reports aggregate counts (like page views) that cannot be tied back to you personally. Because it is cookieless and non-identifying, it runs without requiring consent.

We do not operate user accounts, do not ask you to submit personal information to use any tool on this site, and do not maintain a database of visitor data.

Advertising

Bank Compass is funded by Google AdSense advertising. No advertising cookie or personalization script loads until Google's consent management platform has resolved your position for this visit: where a consent message applies to you, nothing advertising-related loads until you answer it, and where one does not, no advertising cookie is set on the basis of a consent you were never asked for. You can reopen that choice at any time from "Cookie preferences" at the foot of any page.

If you are covered by California's CCPA/CPRA or a comparable state privacy law, a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control appears in the footer. Bank Compass does not sell personal data for money; the control exists because serving personalized advertising counts as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under those laws, and using it records your opt-out with Google and the advertising partners it passes the signal to. The categories of data AdSense collects under consent are the ones described in Google's own advertising notice, linked below.

Two controls are worth knowing about now, because they are yours and they work whether or not this site ever shows an ad. Google lets you turn off ad personalization across every site that uses its advertising, at My Ad Center, and it publishes how it uses cookies and identifiers in advertising in How Google uses cookies in advertising. When advertising is active here, Google acts as a third-party vendor and may use cookies and advertising identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites, subject to the consent you give in the banner.

What we don't do

• We are not a bank or financial institution, and we do not collect or store bank account numbers, card numbers, or other nonpublic financial information about you. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act's privacy requirements for financial institutions do not apply to Bank Compass for this reason.
• We do not sell personal data to third parties for money.
• We do not knowingly collect data from, or direct this site at, children under 13. Bank Compass is a general-audience site and is not subject to COPPA.

Your rights and how to exercise them

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights over personal information collected about you — for example, under California's CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states. Because Bank Compass currently collects only non-identifying, aggregate analytics data, there is generally no personal data tied to you for us to access, correct, or delete. Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy before advertising goes live, and whenever what we collect meaningfully changes. The "Last revised" date above reflects the most recent change.
